We have battled in the Champions League 2024 Aichi.

My second son participated in the Champions League 2024 Aichi Senior League! I accompanied him into the venue and enjoyed the festival. The number of participants in the Senior and Junior Leagues has increased from this year, so I think many of you were able to participate.

This deck has always been used by my second son, who is originally good at flame decks, and is full of power.

About the Champions League

The Champions League is held five times a year, and this event tends to be highly competitive and attracts many so-called “Hardcore Player” because the top four players in the Master, Senior, Junior, and Open Leagues qualify for the Pokémon World Championships. Championship points are not awarded. Redoing from declarations of card use and energy replacement, which are sometimes allowed in gym battles, etc., are not allowed here. However, I try to enjoy the event most of all, as it is a festive and fun event. Not only are there heated battles being fought in each league, but there are also a variety of side events. At this Champions League Aichi, some events were open to same-day participation, so there was more scope for enjoyment with game corners, autograph sessions, and even autograph sessions with famous Pokémon card players outside the venue. There was also a place for free games. I was glad to see that, as it added to the festive atmosphere.

04:00 Wake up

I had been diligently making onigiri (rice balls) since morning. There are not many places to eat there, so I definitely recommend bringing your own.

05:20 Departure

It’s a beautiful day! I bought a cup of coffee at Lawson and we are off.

07:00 Arrive at Agui PA

After riding all the way on the highway, we arrived at Agui PA. This is the last parking area before the Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center). The stores open at 7:00 a.m., which was just right. Around this area, there were a few poker players. I bought a sausage from a cheerful man, which cheered me up!

07:40 Arrive at Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center)

Due to the large site, there is plenty of room to park. At the entrance, they were urging visitors to register their companions. Since I had pre-registered, I entered without any changes.

08:00 Senior League registration complete

Baggage check upon entering the building.

After a short walk to the reception desk, log in from the website and read the QR code displayed on the machine to complete the reception process.

08:50 1st round Senior League 1st round matching announced

After the registration, we were free to sit and wait in our respective leagues, and moved to our seats after the first round of matchmaking was announced.

09:05 Senior League Rules Explanation

A paper explaining the rules was distributed to the participants in advance at their seats, so a simple explanation was all it took to complete the process.

09:15 1st round – Gardevoir ex Win first attack

While taking care of the Scream Tail with manaphy, I played against them. Opponent tried to one-punch his opponent with Drifloon, but he couldn’t pull off the damage pump, so he endured the one-punch and won.

10:05 2nd round Lost Giratina Lose Second Attack

Big accident. Radiant Charizard was the only Battle Field, and it was the end of the last one after applying energy The next turn also ends with an Energy. Two shots to the head and it’s over.

11:00 3rd Round Lost Box Win Second Attack

I beat Roaring Moon ex twice with my Maximum Belt and won. At this point, we were informed of the lunch break and announced to meet at 11:50 a.m. We hurried outside to scarf down onigiri (rice balls).

12:20 4th round Greninja ex Lose Second Attack

The side race was a good contest, but at the end, when I would have won if I could have evolved into Lizardon, I noticed that the last piece of mysterious candy had fallen to the side. I couldn’t evolve it and lost the race. I was now on the precipice of two losses.

13:10 5th round Lugia v Win Second attack

I went on to defeat the first two Archeops and won.

I was in a festive mood, wandering around the venue during the game. I would love to play on the main stage someday. I was happy to pass by Ponita Ishii-san as well.

14:00 6th round Palkia & Gholdengo ex Lose Second attack

Neolant is defeated first, but with the Maximum Belt, and then with the Surf Go ex, he defeats two of them. Finally, he defeats Palkia and wins.

14:52 7th Round Iron Hands ex Win Second Offense

While the other team was having accidents, we evolved steadily and won the game with a 2-2-2 side. The finish was confirmed!

15:50 8th round: Gardevoir ex Lose Second attack

One-punted by Drifloon, pushed straight through and lost, finishing in 206th place! Our family’s best result! We did really well!

16:30 Participation in side event

Four junior parents and their children played a round-robin game. It was a bit tiring but fun.

18:00 Celebration

Speaking of Aichi, Hitsumabushi. Since I came all the way here, I didn’t care about the price. I really did my best!

22:00 Return home

These are the promo cards we received. Thunder ex is a memory.

Finally.

If you put your parking ticket through the machine next to the reception desk at Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center), the parking fee was reduced to half price because you are a visitor. If you have a car, don’t forget to bring it with you! I was very tired when I got home, but I still enjoyed the Champions League! Thank you to all the organizers and judges! The Open League (Extra) is fun and I hope that all Champions League events will be held as well.
