City League 2024/03/17 Season 3 at BOOKOFF SUPER BAZAAR No. 307 Hirakata Ikenomiya store in Hirakata, Japan.

My family of three had a Pokéka battle at BOOKOFF SUPER BAZAAR 307 Hirakata Ikenomiya store in City League Season 3. The proceedings went very smoothly, and I would like to thank the store staff, the judges, and all the players. We had a fun Pokéka time. I have compiled a summary of the day’s events, including the timetable, so I hope it will be helpful to beginners. By the way, you should eat dinner first before participating in the qualifying rounds because you will be battling all the way through.

Deck Recipe: Future Iron Hands ex

The reason I use it is because my child gave me Iron Crown ex SR as a birthday present. (Simple)

About City League

City League is an event held four to five times a year, where players can earn championship points to qualify for the Pokémon Japan Championships. Since the winner earns the right to participate in the Japan Championships, the event is highly competitive, and many so-called “stiffs” tend to participate. Redoing a card use declaration or energy replacement, which are sometimes allowed in Gym Battles, etc., are not allowed here. However, Pokémon cards are a game that emphasizes communication. In addition to being considerate of your opponents, try to create an atmosphere in which all players can enjoy the City League.

09:40 Arrival at store

I arrived at BOOKOFF SUPER BAZAAR 307 Hirakata Ikenomiya a little early. Because it was before the store opened, there were a few people who looked like poker players here and there at the entrance.

10:00 Opening and registration

There was a line before the store opened, but when I entered the store, a judge approached me and guided me to the registration area. I paid the registration and 500 yen participation fee and was told to meet at 10:50. I wandered around the store with the children and waited.

10:50 Announcement of first round matching

Matchings for the first round are announced, and the participants take their seats and even prepare to play each other.

11:00 Explanation of competition

Judges explained the rules in detail. There were 62 participants.

11:15 1st round Lost Giratina Win

Rock, paper, scissors loss, second attack
The opponent was slow to save up for the roster due to an accident, and we were on top, winning the game with a series of Amp You Very Much. It was great that we were able to decide before he evolved into Giratina Vstar.

11:50 2nd round Chien-Pao Win

Rock, paper, scissors loss, second attack
The first two Baxcalibur were defeated, and Iron Hands ex was defeated before Gottsuan Prefi, but he returned to defeat Segrave and stopped his opponent.

12:20 3rd round Future Iron Hands ex Lose

Rock, paper, scissors loss, first attack
We both started off with some accidents, but my opponent was steadily adding energy with Accel Peak and Electric Generator, and I could hardly move, and ended up getting 6 cards with Iron Hands ex and Mew with Amp You Very Much. I couldn’t even get a single side card.

12:55 4th round Lugia Win

Rock, paper, scissors loss, first attack
The opponent trashed two Archeops with a Ultra Ball with one to go. The opponent called a Chiramy no Nakama, leaving only a pair of Lugia. The first 1 had 2 Iron Hands, so I thought I could win if I called Peper or the Lugia on the back with the boss, but I couldn’t draw it. I had two Archeops on the second and we were in a fistfight. I had one card left on my side and Lugia was on the battlefield, so I had to draw Boss or Thorton to win. I played zero cards in my hand and restarted with my soul. I drew Boss and won.

13:30 5th round Tinkaton ex Win

Rock, paper, scissors loss, second attack
By accident of opponent, I put the first one Radiant Jirachi and ended up with only the Dunsparce bench. Hyper Blower, Prime Catcher, and Boss’s command to avoid Radiant Jirachi, while gaining a side and winning. Iron Hands ex was defeated by Astral Misfortune, but I made it in time as the following was raised.

14:00 Qualifying round ends

I was thinking that if I won one more game, I would qualify, but since I lost both games at the all-winning table, the qualifying round ended without 6 rounds. I was eliminated in 6th place! I was honestly very happy. I heard that the final tournament would start at 14:40. I also leave the deck I was using here.

14:40 Deck check

Judges check the decks of the eight remaining players in front of them for any flaws. Sleeves were checked for scratches, folds, and warped cards, as well as to make sure they matched the card lists registered with the Players Club. They looked very carefully.

15:00 Explanation of final tournament rules

Since there were no both-losses, we were given a detailed explanation of the winners and losers in the event that time ran out.

15:10 First round of the final tournament Snorlax LO Win

Rock, paper, scissors loss, first attack
The battle started! I thought it was over the moment I saw Snorlax in the To win, you have to be able to hit every Pokémon on the field. I checked my deck and found that I had 14 Energy and all the key cards were in my deck, so I went first with 2, and I got out 2 Miraidon , 2 Iron Hands ex, Iron Crown ex, and Iron Boulder ex all in my deck. After that, they continued to cut down my goods, but I steadily attached energy by hand, and after I finished attaching all the energy, I had 3 minutes left. After all the energies had been applied, the player had 3 minutes remaining. From there, he continued to attack, and won by opponent’s resignation.

15:45 Second round of the final tournament Roaring Moon Lose

Rock, paper, scissors loss, second attack
I accelerate ene acceleration with Accel Peak in the later 1, but Iron Crown ex is hunted in the earlier 2, Iron Hands ex is also kuru egura before hitting, and finally Iron Boulder ex is kuru egura, and I lose. I thought the ancient barrettes would have an advantage over us, but we lose easily with a series of Roaring Moon hits.

Finally.

I was honestly happy with TOP4 since my goal was to advance to the final tournament! My child gave me Kibana SAR as a gift to celebrate! I will put it in my Amajo V deck. A total of 7 games is exhausting. I ended up losing 2 games, but since I was the 1st and 2nd place player, top 4 was fair. My next goal is to win the championship!
